Opening The Door To Commercial Design

It seems like we’ve been sharing a lot of announcements lately. Perhaps it’s the pause we took on growing outside of New England during the pandemic or perhaps it’s because our incredible team of rockstar designers is excited to expand their design horizons. We shared the news a while back on Instagram but we’re officially announcing, here on our journal that Gina Baran Interiors + Design is now excited to begin taking on commercial projects for retailers, restaurants, boutique hotels and more.

If you didn’t know two of the lead designers at GBID are architecturally taught and come from the commercial design world! Gina got the itch a while ago to venture into this new space but it really took when Gina Baran’s home decor and lifestyle retail location, Baran Home, opened this past February after months of preparation and anticipation. Previously named Abode Shoppe, Baran Home has rebranded, relocated to the historic town of Newburyport, MA and offers exclusive curated home goods that help create an approachable and elevated home.  With the new location came a whole new interior and our creative ideas just flowed effortlessly. Knowing her brand so well, it was easy for Gina to share the design visually to represent her offerings in store and how she wanted her customers to feel walking into the shop. That translated very well.

Let’s share a little about this renovation. You see, this new location which was previously an office space needed a lot of work before opening their doors to the public. Baran Home was designed by Gina Baran Interiors + Design designers Gina Baran and Katie Satchell. From moving walls, to strategically planning lighting plans, designing built-ins, and more, the team was able to seamlessly create an inviting space for an exclusive customer shopping experience.

This move took a lot of thoughtful planning, organization, and learning about a newer concept to our firm: commercial interior design. GBID is excited to announce that we will now be taking on more commercial projects in the New England area, Charleston, SC, and beyond!

Check out a few pages from our construction plans for the shop.

Our designers are excited to begin creating one of a kind commercial interiors that tell our client’s brand story both in aesthetically and in the way they want their customers to feel walking into their location whether it’s a boutique hotel, salon, storefront or studio.
