Working directly with Gina and our agents, we will help you design your new space with our supplied measuring materials and step by step guides, all on a budget! Once we look over your questionnaire, we will reach out to you to set up a consultation to discuss project further.
E-Design rooms start at $600.
Q: Why do you charge a consultation fee?
A: There are a few reasons for the charge. During our consultation, I am not only meeting you and learning more about your space but I am also giving you lots of information on how I suggest you handle the design, layout and colors within your home. When I leave your home you have enough information that you can go out and make selections yourself with my guidance provided to create an interior you otherwise wouldn't have been able to achieve. If you hire GBID to design your space your consultation fee is removed from the final invoice.
Consultations are typically 90 mins long plus travel time. During this time I am pulled away from other contracted projects.
Think of it this way, would you go to work for 90+mins for free?
You can read more about the consultation service above.
Q: How long does a full service project typically take from start to finish?
A: This all depends on the scope of the project. A project can take anywhere from 4 months to more than a year depending on what is involved. A new build or renovation will take more than a redesign / new furnishings project. Keep in mind, it's always good to reach out early as we usually have a waitlist for full service design. If you need a project completed by Christmas call us in June not September.
Q: Do you charge hourly for your services?
A: Yes, however for most projects I will submit a flat fee proposal so you have an idea of total cost for design services prior to signing on with us. A deposit is required up front to start the design process and then services are billed on an hourly bases.
Q: Do you provide contractors when needed?
A: I have a full team of contractors and subcontractors to handle every aspect of your project. From cabinets to countertops, plumbing + electrical I have a great team to get your project complete. I will offer them on every project I am hired for. I do this because I have established relationships with these trades and work very smoothly with them which makes for a very pleasant experience for the client. With that being said if you have a preferred contractor or have already hired a company to do the work for you I that is not a problem. I have worked with many different contractors, subs + architects and have had good experiences with them all.
Q: When should I bring you (the interior designer) into the project?
A: For a renovation or a new build you should contact me as soon as the thought to renovate crosses your mind. Many clients reach out after construction has started and need to have selections made. This is usually too late. Your home is an investment and being in a rush to make selections usually results in choices being made that you will regret in a year or two. The other reason for this is I can look over your plans with a second set of eyes and help make changes that will better the layout that you may not have known should be made. Always reach out early in the process. For smaller redesign and decorating projects I suggest roughly 4-5 months before you want the project to be completed.
