Interior Designer Position
Location Newbury MA
We’re looking to hire an interior designer to work with both our Full-Service clients as well as some e-design clients under the direction of a lead designer and Principal Designer, Gina Baran.
We are looking for a talented, naturally driven individual with a passion for interior design and changing peoples lives through design. The interior designer will assist in every step of the start-to-finish lifecycle of client projects, from answering prospective client inquiries to creating custom design boards, sourcing products and materials, and project installations. The Interior Designer develops and implements the design vision for each project and will create unique spaces that possess client styles with the latest trends, all within the GBID aesthetic. The interior designer will communicate all design related details to the team and oversee the progress of each site to ensure our vision comes to life. In order to give each client the best experience, the designer will be in communication with the client about the design throughout the process.
Qualifications + qualities we are looking for for this position.
2+ years of interior design experience in residential design. Commercial design experience in addition to residential a plus.
Bachelors in Interior Design (this may be overlooked based on experience).
Someone who prides themselves on detail, extreme attention to detail!
Follow through on all aspects of the job from consult to install is a must .
A solid understanding of Adobe Photoshop, and Chief Architect AutoCAD.
Strong communication skills and experience consulting directly with clients.
The confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly to clients and the team.
Strong leadership ability and self-motivation.
The ability to work as a team as well as individually.
A great attitude
Develop each client’s project design vision with Gina Baran.
Engage with clients throughout the entire project about all design related items.
Communicate any and all design details to client and build team, documenting through email and our software systems.
Take the client’s style and give it the GBID aesthetic.
Always be creative, forward thinking and pushing the design team to new concepts and styles that fit within the GBID look.
Develop each project’s inspiration, finishes and furniture selections.
Delegate assignments to the design assistants and review their work.
Present each project’s inspiration, finishes and furniture selections to Gina Baran.
Assist in presentation meetings to clients in studio or on site.
Lead job site meetings alongside Gina Baran or alone if needed.
Assist in managing client expectations with regular and clear communication. Weekly emails a must.
Prepare and manage each project installation with Gina Baran or alone if needed.
Collaborate with Gina Baran on preparing for Monday morning weekly meetings with design team to discuss schedule and week’s priorities.
Train any new design team members and lead interns.
Cultivate professional relationships with industry partners.
This is a part-time position to start paid an hourly rate and we’re looking for a 15-20 hr/week minimum commitment to start. Typical hours are from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m, Monday- Friday.
