Interior Design Intern

Are you a self starter, passionate about interior design and currently studying to earn your degree or certificate? We are looking for an interior design intern ready to level-up and learn while helping our team.


OVERVIEW

Our interior design intern position is the jump-off point to you future career! Your visual and creative verbal ability to assist with telling our client’s stories are at the forefront in this position. Your assistance on all aspects of different size and scope of our projects will propel you into the next steps of your ID career.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Developing material palettes and presentation materials as instructed by Interior Designers. 

  • With direction from Interior Designers, create 3D renderings for client presentations. 

  • Responsible for the organization, sample ordering and upkeep of the material library. 

  • With direction from Interior Designers, contact and schedule representative meetings and product updates. 

  • Responsible for the upkeep of internal GBID source and contact lists. 

  • Assisting Interior Designers with various project deliverables. 

  • Participate in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other non-billable planning sessions. 

  • Perform administrative tasks including and entering time sheets for each project.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Someone who prides themselves on extreme attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • The confidence and skills to communicate your ideas clearly to clients and the team

  • The ability to handle a fast paced work environment.

  • Strong leadership ability and self-motivation

  • Knowledge and understanding of interior design principles and the ability to apply to a broad cross section of project types.

  • Ability to use design software to create plans and models. 

  • Ability to work in our studio in Newburyport on days you are not remote.

  • Enrolled in an Interior Design program at an accredited college or university. 

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Chief Architect a plus. 

  • This position will sometimes require the ability to work around a crowded and busy working area, including construction sites.
